Web Design Issues, etc.
July 9, 2007

Feel free to make comments or suggestions. I will try to spell everything correctly, and be grammatically correct. But, as a human I will inevitably miss something, or otherwise not be clear.... Feel free to jump in, anytime.

This site, as you may have guessed, is decidedly low-tech. It is this way for two very good reasons.

First, not everyone has a brand new state of the art Computer and High Speed Internet Connection. So, I am not going to 'assume' that large or animated graphics files on every page and 1024 by 768 screen format is the norm or "required"....

Which brings us to point two. I consider myself an average person with small resources. And, as my target audience is average Christians, with minimal natural resources I don't want to lock anyone out simply because they don't have the latest and greatest.

Lastly, I am not a 'Webmeister'. Everything I know I have applied from the NCSA, which was discontinued, and HTMLgoodies web sites. These are excellent resources. Two other sites include:

I use Notepad and hand-code most pages.

When I have used Word or other editors they have left me with incomprehensible code bloat. Doubling and even quadrupling page sizes. Unfortunately, Notepad doesn't have a spelling checker... So, you will see mispelled words.

Write in Notepad, save as a .HTM, view in your browser, make changes, refresh browser, etc.
